Terms of service
These terms apply to the lettermenu website, public menu screens and Fire TV app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
- You remain responsible for your menu content.
- Public screen links are not private.
- The service may change and occasional interruptions can happen.
1. About these terms
lettermenu provides tools for creating menus in a browser and showing them on a TV, including through the lettermenu Fire TV app. These terms form an agreement between you and lettermenu. If you use lettermenu for a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate information, protect your password and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity under your account and for disconnecting Fire TVs you no longer control.
3. Using the service
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use lettermenu for its intended purpose while you follow these terms. You must not:
- break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
- upload malicious code or interfere with the service or other accounts;
- try to bypass security, access another account or reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits it;
- use automated methods that place an unreasonable load on the service; or
- resell or reproduce the service without our written permission.
4. Your menus and public screens
You keep ownership of the content you create. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display it only as needed to provide and operate lettermenu.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to use your content and that it is lawful and accurate, including prices, descriptions, allergens and other customer-facing information. lettermenu does not check or approve menu content.
Each location’s screen URL is public and does not require a password. Anyone with the link may view its enabled menus. Do not use the service to publish personal, confidential or sensitive information.
5. Fire TV app
The lettermenu Fire TV app lets you pair a television with your account and choose a location to display. A paired TV can retrieve locations and menu data available to its account token. Keep physical control of paired devices and disconnect any lost, sold or unrecognised TV from account settings.
Amazon and Fire TV are third-party products. Their availability, device software and app-store services are outside our control, and their own terms also apply.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep lettermenu reliable, especially on unattended displays, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Internet, TV, browser and third-party failures may affect the service. Keep an alternative menu available where displaying prices or information is operationally important.
We may maintain, improve, replace or stop features. If we discontinue the service, we will try to give reasonable notice where practical.
7. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service or request account deletion at any time. We may restrict or end access if you materially breach these terms, create a security or legal risk, or misuse the service. Where reasonable, we will give notice and a chance to resolve the issue.
Sections that logically need to continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law—survive termination.
8. Intellectual property
Except for your content, lettermenu and its software, designs, branding and other materials belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. These terms do not transfer those rights to you.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will meet every requirement, work with every television or be free from defects. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or warranties that law does not allow us to exclude.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, lettermenu is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, loss of goodwill, or loss of data arising from use of the service. As the service is currently free, our total liability arising from the service is limited to £100. This does not affect any non-excludable rights you may have.
11. General
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our permission; we may transfer it as part of a business reorganisation or sale, without reducing your rights.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
12. Contact and changes
Questions can be sent to [email protected]. We may update these terms. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify account holders. Continuing to use the service after the new terms take effect means you accept them.
